The farmhouse, a significant example of architecture of the Roman countryside, was already mentioned in the Gregorian register of land properties in 1819. Because of its central position within the Park and the landscape, it is particularly suitable for didactic and cultural activities.
On the first floor:
A projection room is provided with a large number of videos about the ecological aspects of the territory.
An ecological laboratory allows the visitors to do physical and chemical analysis as well as microscopical observations of samples taken in the Park.
A small library with a large number of texts and a rich documentation about the Tevere is also
available for the visitors.
On the ground floor:
The eco-museum shows how people used to live in the old estate and along the river, mostly by means of archive documents as well as oral witnesses and ancient tools found in the village.
A multimedial programme, rich in pictures and sounds, explains the ecological and demo-anthropological aspects of the area.
Belvedere Terrace
It is the starting point of the Prairie Track [sentiero prateria]; here a meteorological station gives a daily report of the weather condition.
An old farmhouse wholly renewed, placed at the end of a wood and surrounded by tall poplars, offers 25 beds, a large living room, cooking facilities and the possibility to stay overnight or longer.
A driveway links it up with the Visitors Centre.
